SMS member prepares to run Brighton Marathon in memory of WW1 Punjabi soldiers
A little known fact about the First World War was the massive contribution that was made by soldiers from the North Western Indian state of Punjab. Numerous lives were lost as over a milion Indian troops joined the battles overseas to support efforts in the Great War. To highlight and celebrate this outstanding contibution by the many, often forgotten, heroes from Punjab, SMS' very own Satnam Singh is preparing to run the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 12th April 2015.
Satnam hopes to raise £1,500 ($3,000) for the UK Punjab Heritage Association (UKPHA), a charity which exists to protect and enrich the understanding of Sikh and Punjabi heritage for present and future generations.
Please support Satnam's efforts by making a donation to the UKPHA via his Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/SatnamWW1/
